1. Where do you see yourself in five years?
回答1:I see myself growing into a experienced software engineer.
3: Become a superviser and use my skills to support others.

2. What are your weaknesses?
What are the areas where you need to improve your skills?
Are there areas where you need to develop your skills further?
如果回答“I don't have any weakness" 只能说你真不懂面试官意图,
可如果回答 “My greatest weakness is I am working too hard”,这就是在搞事情了。

3. What do you like least about your previous job/internship?
What do you dislike the most about your last job?

What do you wish you had done differently at your previous company?
The problem can be easily changed in the future.
What you have learned from the previous experience.

Reference: https://collegegrad.com/tough-in ... r-greatest-weakness

1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why ..Company?
3. What is your most Challenging project
1. Describe a situation where you exceeded expectations/did more than required
2. Have you ever had a conflict with the team? How was it resolved?

(4) why facebook

5 core values
1) Be Bold
2) Focus on impact
 3) Move Fast: Moving fast enables us to build more things and learn faster.
We’re less afraid of making mistakes than we are of losing opportunities by moving too slowly.
We are a culture of builders, the power is in your hands.
 4) Be Open:We believe that a more open world is a better world. The same goes for our company.
Informed people make better decisions and have a greater impact,
which is why we work hard to make sure everyone at Facebook has access to as much information about the company as possible.
 5) Build Social Value:Facebook was created to make the world more open and connected,
not just to build a company.
We expect everyone at Facebook to focus every day on
how to build real value for the world in everything they do.

"They have to be passionate and they have to really care about our mission to connect the world,"
Havriliuc told Business Insider. "We're a very mission-driven company,
and ultimately our goal is to give everyone in the world a voice.
That needs to be important to whoever wants to join Facebook.
Beyond the technical and subject matter expertise piece of the interview,
we do really ask people to share with us how they live those values. It really varies."

It's important to give people a voice, to get a diversity of opinions out there, but on top of that,
you also need to do this work of building common ground so that way we can all move forward together."
The company even has a new mission statement: "To give people the power to build community
and bring the world closer together."

Focus on Impact

If we want to have the biggest impact, the best way to do this is to make sure we always focus on solving the most important problems. It sounds simple, but we think most companies do this poorly and waste a lot of time. We expect everyone at Facebook to be good at finding the biggest problems to work on.

Move Fast

Moving fast enables us to build more things and learn faster. However, as most companies grow, they slow down too much because they’re more afraid of making mistakes than they are of losing opportunities by moving too slowly. We have a saying: “Move fast and break things.” The idea is that if you never break anything, you’re probably not moving fast enough.

Be Bold

Building great things means taking risks. This can be scary and prevents most companies from doing the bold things they should. However, in a world that’s changing so quickly, you’re guaranteed to fail if you don’t take any risks. We have another saying: “The riskiest thing is to take no risks.” We encourage everyone to make bold decisions, even if that means being wrong some of the time.

Be Open

We believe that a more open world is a better world because people with more information can make better decisions and have a greater impact. That goes for running our company as well. We work hard to make sure everyone at Facebook has access to as much information as possible about every part of the company so they can make the best decisions and have the greatest impact.

Build Social Value

Once again, Facebook exists to make the world more open and connected, and not just to build a company. We expect everyone at Facebook to focus every day on how to build real value for the world in everything they do.

1. Can you tell me a little about yourself? (how you fit hte job , relevant)

I joined supermicro as a network validation engineer for almost 3 years there I developed import skills such as network monitoring ,analytical abilities and problem solving abilities, and during these time, I have studied myself and achieved CCNA and CCNP certificate.

in the position, I am responsible for the troubleshooting, compatible and stress test for our 10G/40G/100G switches, performing analyses for network servers, dealing with the customer issues, recently I helped our team to develop the automated methods to be more efficency testing the switches and server's performance .

one of my strength is the eager to learn and quick absorb of the new knowledge, when there is new or rushed project , my manager will always willing to assign to me.

for the next step of my career, I want to have chance to get a role that can deal with large scale network environmentlike FB, so that I can improve myself and use my techinical skills to contribute to the team.

2.why facebook ?

first of all ,I'm always the huge fan of facebook, when I first come to American, the first social media account I have is FB, I connect with friends not only in USA ,but also those in China and Europe which is all around the world. I'm very appreciated that FB has changed our life and getting us closer, we can share our moments ,memories, and waht matters most with our friends and family.

another thing I admire about facebook is that you always glad to share the open source with public not only in software but also in hardware. like I know you launched the Open Compute Project (OCP) to make the harware also be open source.and invite others to collectively develop the most efficient computing infrastructure is very awesome.

then as a network negineer, facebook is definitely my dream company, facebook's network is one of the most dynamic and face-paced network in the world, and is the carrier of the connection between billions of users. the network operations and technologys ar every attractive to me , it would be very inspiring to combine the network skills gained before with what will learn to contribute to the network system .I'm eager to be part of you to fullfill the mission to bring the world closer together.

3. What is your most Challenging project ? What is your greatest professional achievement?

the great achievement is to help our team to build the automation testbed and system .

in the early year of my last job, all the function tests of the switches are manually which would l take a long time and it is a repeat work.one of our senior engineer decided to build an automation system to automated all the test cases, and I was lucky to be assigned to help him to fullfill this project.

I was tasked to build up the physical topology and create the testplan for functions to transfer to automation.

when dealing with this system, everything is new to me ,it was kind of hard to congest the knowledge of concept and framwork, and there are many detailed trouble when built up the testbed. and transfer the manual test cases to automations with python is also a huge work. but I'm a fast learner and isearched the web or discuss with the senior when did not know how to fullfill some function.

now ,we have already covered almost all the layer 2 functions of all the switch modules , It have saved lots of time , we can run hundreds of test cases everyday, and I have learnt a lot from the project.

4. Describe a situation where you exceeded expectations/did more than required?

last mouth , there comes in a customer tickets that the blade server's interface will be done with some configuration.

I have duplicated all the enviroment as the customers like the same encolsure, same switch configuration, same CMM or IPMI version, but didn't see the link down as the customer.

since the issue can't be duplicated with the infor customer gave ,my part is done.

However I wrote a script to flap the interface and assign different command to it for more than 100 times to ensure all the interfaces permorance normal so that excluded the possibility of the kown set up of servers and blade.

with the result I gave , the TS team quickly started to look into other aspect to solve the problem.

5. Have you ever had a conflict with the team? How was it resolved? Tell me about a challenge or conflict you've faced at work, and how you dealt with it.(ominipath)

there is always confict at work , and I believe that what we should do is not blame on each other , instead we should work together to figure out the solutions.

once I was involved in a switch release project which need to collabrate with the hardware engineer ,I was in charge of the performance test and ask to hw engineer to change the epprom when there was some issue.

the project's deadline is close, and the PM gave pressure to us , I did not got response from the hw engineer for some time then I approched him about the issue,he blew up at me and blam me not report the issue ealier,I was taken aback by his response , but I remained clam, I acknowledged that the deadline was tight, and explained to him that this function would be tested based on other test done,

He relaxed a little when he saw that I want to communicate with him. He told me about all of his other competing projects and how overwhelmed he was. I asked him if there was any way that I could help him come up with a solution.

Eventually, we agreed that it would help if his manager had a better understanding of how important this project was. We decided we would speak with him together. She ended up assigning some of his other projects to another engineer , which took some of the pressure off of him.

and as a result ,we cooperate together and make the deadline on time.

6. What do you consider to be your weaknesses?

Honestly, I would say that public speaking is an area that I could work on. I tend to get nervous when asked to present to a large group of people. In small team meetings, I’m fine to stand up and present. But put me in front of a big group and I can get flustered.

I actually spoke to my manager about this and we set it as one of my development goals for this year. I attended some meetings of Toastmasters, a networking group for people who want to practice public speaking. With some practice, I started to feel more comfortable. Last month, I even volunteered to represent our team to introduce other team what is our team's work. I was still kind of nervous at first but soon I clam down and I did it ! It was actually kind of fun, so I plan on continuing to seek out opportunities to improve in this area.

7.What do you like least about your previous job? What do you wish you had done differently at your previous company?

As the validation engineer, you always assign several tasks the same period and I have had problems in the past with taking on too many tasks and then not delivering quality and,in some cases, not delivering on time.I was simply stretched too thin in too many areas with not enough time to deliver in a quality manner.

I think that's the opportunity that as a fresh assigned with mutiple tasks to test, you want to do everything and be involved in everything. However, I've learned that I'm not at my best when I have too many conflicting priorities.I must prioritize their focus and cut back on some of the less important one .

I had three test with deadline in the same week,so I met with my manager to prioritize the delivery schedule. She helped me focus on both the timing and the quality of the delivery.

In the end, all three projects were delivered with high quality results.

8. Do you have any questions for us?

I've been hoing my network analysis skills for years now and, first and formost, I amd looking for a position where I can learn a lot and continue to exercise those skills.

and since I am always very motivated and inspired by the work that can impact other people's life, since facebook's goal is to bring the world closer together, I'm really excited about the opportunity to grow and work in a company like yours.

What's a time you disagreed with a decision that was made at work?

Everyone disagrees with the boss from time to time, but in asking this interview question, hiring managers want to know that you can do so in a productive, professional way. “You don’t want to tell the story about the time when you disagreed but your boss was being a jerk and you just gave in to keep the peace. And you don’t want to tell the one where you realized you were wrong,” says Peggy McKee of Career Confidential. “Tell the one where your actions made a positive difference on the outcome of the situation, whether it was a work-related outcome or a more effective and productive working relationship.”

https://www.thebalance.com/interview-questions-about-when-your-boss-is-wrong-2061297

Answering this type of charged question can be difficult, but you don’t have to make it difficult. A good answer might go something like this:

I once disagreed with my boss over how to best help a customer. Rather than question his authority in front of everyone, I talked to him off of the floor. I was open and honest about the problems I had with the way he wanted to do things. It turned out that there was just a simple misunderstanding. That disagreement we had showed me the importance of communicating with my coworkers to make sure that something obsolete doesn’t become a bigger problem than it needs to be.

Remember that hiring managers are looking for someone that will fit in at their company. Try and answer in a way that will show your better qualities.

I think I would gather the proof formulate options and then arrange a private meeting with the manager. I will suggest to have other way to tacle the problem , and discuss with the manager to

1. Acknowledge the boss’ authority

Let the boss know you respect his/her position and/or knowledge.

"I see your point. Have you considered...?"

Show you’ve considered his/her approach

Pause before responding.Position the discussion as being you and your boss against the problem

POWER PHRASE / What to say:

"Hmm...I hear that.”

Keep it professional

alk in terms of company and department goals: accomplishing the mission and saving time and money

What to say: “I think we could save time and money with a different approach.”

Listen to understand, and make sure the boss knows you understand

DO:Give your boss plenty of time to have his/her say, even if you disagree.

“I respect your position and want to be sure I understand why you think it’s important to do it this way.”

7. Know when to let go

DO:Bow out gracefully.:

“Thanks for letting me share my views.”
6. Be pleasantly persistent

Gather new evidence and ask to make your case a second and even a third time.

POWER PHRASE / What to say:

“I’ve looked into this idea some more and would like the opportunity to run my perspective by you in the light of new information. Can I have five minutes of your time?”

9. How do you deal with pressure or stressful situations?

Pressure is very important to me. Good pressure, such as having a lot of assignments to work on, or an upcoming deadline, helps me to stay motivated and productive. Of course, there are times when too much pressure can lead to stress; however, I am very skilled at balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, which prevents me from feeling stressed often.

For example, I once had a new release switch project along with two other performance test due in the same week, which was a lot of pressure. However, since I have created a schedule that detailed how I would break down each project into small assignments, and I realized that running two stress test same time can save my time, so I turned to my cowork to see whether he is free to help me run one of the sress test while I was running another one,and he was very gerous to give me a hand.

and In the end I completed all the tasks in time and avoided unnecessary stress.

when I come to the office,I would get used to having a plan of the day. what project is on hand, and the progress and priority of them.

check the email

the funny thing is that I'm always the youngest one in the team of the last job, not only the age but also the experience, but when there is new member comes in , I'm always glad to answer all the questions they have to get them be familiar with the comany faster. and I may become more familiar with the product and system of the comany, so when they fisrt time assgin a test, I will teach them how to report a issue ticket ,how to use the system and how to configure our switch and server.

15 .Where do you see yourself in five years?

If asked this question, be honest and specific about your future goals, but consider this: A hiring manager wants to know a) if you've set realistic expectations for your career, b) if you have ambition (a.k.a., this interview isn't the first time you're considering the question), and c) if the position aligns with your goals and growth. Your best bet is to think realistically about where this position could take you and answer along those lines. And if the position isn’t necessarily a one-way ticket to your aspirations? It’s OK to say that you’re not quite sure what the future holds, but that you see this experience playing an important role in helping you make that decision.

I see myself working within this field, but I hope to have progressed to a higher level of responsibility, possess a greater degree of knowledge and advance and expand my skill set. I always want to keep learning, keep getting better, and I hope after five years my efforts will carry me closer and closer to becoming an expert at what I do. That being said, I'm also committed to staying happy and fulfilled with my career so that, too, factors into my five-year plans.

Facebook is what you make of it-- it can be a serious professional tool, a place for fun and entertainment, or a combination of both. Ultimately, you have control over what you add to your profile and with whom you share it.

Facebook can be a valuable networking tool-- as more and more "adult-users" join Facebook, the possibility for connecting to others with similar professional interests increase. Additionally, Facebook can be a useful resource for staff in a large organization such as the College of DuPage. Applications such as Events, Photos and Videos allow networks to communicate to each other easily and less-intrusively than by email

Many professional and academic organizations have a presence in Facebook and the roles they play in Facebook are as varied as their types. While some serve to organize individuals from a large geographic area (alumni groups), others are location specific (Association of Women Journalists in Chicago) or event specific (charity walks).

Facebook makes it easy to expand your awareness of networking opportunities. As your Facebook friends join groups and declare themselves fans of organizations, you'll be notified via Facebook's News Feed. You can also search for groups and individuals who share your interests.

Discussion Boards, Walls and other applications in Facebook give you ample opportunity to share

5. Why should we hire you?

This interview question seems forward (not to mention intimidating!), but if you're asked it, you're in luck: There's no better setup for you to sell yourself and your skills to the hiring manager. Your job here is to craft an answer that covers three things: that you can not only do the work, you can deliver great results; that you'll really fit in with the team and culture; and that you'd be a better hire than any of the other candidates.

? 6. What are your greatest professional strengths?

https://www.themuse.com/advice/a-better-way-for-modest-people-to-answer-what-are-your-greatest-strengths

When answering this question, interview coach Pamela Skillings recommends being accurate (share your true strengths, not those you think the interviewer wants to hear); relevant (choose your strengths that are most targeted to this particular position); and specific (for example, instead of “people skills,” choose “persuasive communication” or “relationship building”). Then, follow up with an example of how you've demonstrated these traits in a professional setting.

11. What's your dream job?

the network engineer who can apply thier technical skills to build robust network for others is an ideal placement for me right now. Of course, I know I have lots of learning to do before I can achieve my dream job. but I believe this job will put me on that path, since I can learn a lot from different teams which is building one of the most dynamic and fast paced network in the world

12. Why are you leaving your current job?

One of the reasons I am leaving is that I felt I was not challenged enough at the job. As a new employee in the working world, the company offered me a great opportunity for a good entry level position – one that I’ll always be grateful for. However, after being there for years, I felt I was not able to reach my full potential because of a real lack of challenge. There really was no room for advancement in the company. While I did enjoy working there and appreciate the skills I developed while with the company, I have learn more knowledge by myself such as BGP, MPLS and so on , I feel my skill set can be better utilized elsewhere, where my capabilities are more recognized and there is the opportunity for growth.

I have learnt a lot from my current job but i thought it is kind of stagnant and limited and there were not any opportunities for growth within the company ,and I want to jump out of comfort zone not just doing validation ,with the knowledge gained such as BGP,MPLS an so on ,I want to make use of these knowledge to join the team which I can participate in design and deploy the network architecture and dealing with large scale of network to begin a further step of my career.

18. How would your boss and co-workers describe you?

First of all, be honest (remember, if you get this job, the hiring manager will be calling your former bosses and co-workers!). Then, try to pull out strengths and traits you haven't discussed in other aspects of the interview, such as your strong work ethic or your willingness to pitch in on other projects when needed.

What are some examples of troubleshooting methods you’ve successfully used in the past?

Every network issue is different, and say so. Then be specific about how you identified a particular problem and went about fixing it. For example, just mentioning that you’ve used the Top Down or Bottom Up approach is helpful, but offer specific details.

What tools do you typically use to isolate and troubleshoot network issues?

What are some ways you’ve improved network performance in the past?

What things should be considered when designing an enterprise network?

  • Begin with, “That depends, because a cookie-cutter approach just won’t work when it comes to enterprise network design.” Then outline a specific enterprise network you’ve designed and its particular concerns.

14. What type of work environment do you prefer?

Examples of the Best Answers

Show your flexibility: I can be flexible when it comes to my work environment. From your website, it looks like the environment in the Engineering department here at RRS, Inc. is fast paced and structured to expand production. I enjoy working in an area experiencing rapid growth, and I think that many times this kind of environment is conducive to new ideas and applications.

When you don't have a preference: I have worked in many types of work environments, and enjoyed learning new things from each. I would say that while I don’t have a preference for a particular environment, I really like working with people who are committed to getting things done and who are passionate about their work.

Dedicated and productive employees: Generally speaking, I like to work in an environment where productivity is high, and the employees have a sense of commitment. In my experience, whether the culture is extremely fast paced, or more laid back, it’s the dedication of the employees at all levels that makes the company successful, and a great place to work.

Working with a strong team: I enjoy working in an environment where the members of the team have a strong sense of comradery, and a good work ethic.

I like working with competent, kind, funny people who like to get things done. It’s important to me to feel that I can trust my team members to always do their best, because I do.

You can adapt to any work environment: Having worked in a variety of work environments, from very casual and laid back to super fast paced, I think I adapt well to most. I’m not familiar with what the corporate environment is here, can you tell me about it?

16. What's a time you exercised leadership?

Depending on what's more important for the the role, you'll want to choose an example that showcases your project management skills (spearheading a project from end to end, juggling multiple moving parts) or one that shows your ability to confidently and effectively rally a team. And remember: “The best stories include enough detail to be believable and memorable,” says Skillings. “Show how you were a leader in this situation and how it represents your overall leadership experience and potential.”

21. What would your first 30, 60, or 90 days look like in this role?

Start by explaining what you'd need to do to get ramped up. What information would you need? What parts of the company would you need to familiarize yourself with? What other employees would you want to sit down with? Next, choose a couple of areas where you think you can make meaningful contributions right away. (e.g., “I think a great starter project would be diving into your email marketing campaigns and setting up a tracking system for them.”) Sure, if you get the job, you (or your new employer) might decide there’s a better starting place, but having an answer prepared will show the interviewer where you can add immediate impact—and that you’re excited to get started.

22. What do you think we could do better or differently?

This is a common one at startups (and one of our personal favorites here at The Muse). Hiring managers want to know that you not only have some background on the company, but that you're able to think critically about it and come to the table with new ideas. So, come with new ideas! What new features would you love to see? How could the company increase conversions? How could customer service be improved? You don’t need to have the company’s four-year strategy figured out, but do share your thoughts, and more importantly, show how your interests and expertise would lend themselves to the job.

“What was your biggest failure at work?”

  • When I first began my job over five years ago, I struggled to meet a deadline for a multi-part project. After that, I developed a new strategy for managing my time. After implementing this new strategy, I have been on time or ahead of time for every project, both individual and team projects. I think this ability to keep a group on task will make me a strong team leader in your office.

there I developed import skills such as woriking with customers in a fast paced enviromnnet

my biggest strenght is the ability to communicate by this I mean lissting effectively to the needs of customrers to have the right product taht will solve their problems

my second strength is my ability to sell and hit targets I enjoy working on the pressure and learning about product and working torwards measuarble goals during this experiene

I have alreays achieved my targets and never lost the custmers during the three yearsI worked there this is sth I am very prond of which emonstrates my commitment to server and this is why I feel with this experience combined with my educational achievements makes me a very good fit for the position and be really excited to be a member of your team

Describe all the networks’ hardware, software, and systems you’ve installed, configured, and maintained. Tell how you provide support and administration for servers. You may also explain the process you follow to manage all back-up systems, restore protocols and monitored network performance, and executed performance tuning.

Because it is important to convey your strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills, you must stress your experience and confidence in troubleshooting, performing analyses for network servers, working with clients, workstations, and peripheral systems.
